In Bahasa Indonesia, the word “kembali” means to “return.” That's exactly what Klub Kembali hopes to do: to welcome you back you to an old-school, tropical bistro complete with great music, art and, most importantly, craft-made Indonesian spirits, wine, beer and fusion foods that showcase the true creativity found across the archipelago.
Created in 2022 by husband-and-wife creative team — mixologist Daniel Schwizer and artist Elissa Gjertson-Schwizer — Klub Kembali proudly opened as the first craft cocktail bar in South Lombok and has been evolving every since.
Nestled in a stunning, 120-year-old Javanese Joglo building in Selong Belanak, Lombok, the Klub focuses on Indonesian spirits — including a new Arak Library containing the largest collection of Indonesian arak in the world — as well as culinary dishes that bring Indonesian tastes together with flavours from around the world.
We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Klub! Visit us in Selong Belanak, Lombok, Indonesia. Open Monday - Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Closed Sunday.

POP KULTUR BY PLASTIK KEMBALI: LICHTENSTEIN ON LOMBOK (LOL)
Part of the Pop Kultur series, “Lichtenstein On Lombok (LOL)” by Plastik Kembali’s Elissa Gjertson invites us into a realm where Pop Art merges Indonesian and Western concepts through a delightful blend of pastiche, cross-cultural ideas and mixed-language elements. Light-hearted humor is deeply woven into Indonesian culture, often serving as a means to navigate the daily chaos of life. “Lichtenstein On Lombok (LOL)” captures this joy in everyday moments, illustrating how laughter can help bridge cultures through understanding and joy.
Did you know? The inaugural print in PK’s original Pop Kultur “LOL” series, “Crying Girl,” was inspired by Lichtenstein’s “Drowning Girl,” which he traced from a comic panel originally created by illustrator Tony Abruzzo. As the “LOL” series developed, Gjertson continued to experiment with the fusion of her learned Bahasa Indonesia and her native English, with each caption written by her, then visually generated through specific prompts in Canva’s Magic Studio. In addition to merged language, the original Pop Art pieces delve into the themes of artistic appropriation and pastiche in the age of AI, addressing how Western ideals, such as lighter skin tones and constructs of beauty, infiltrate Indonesian society. Additionally, the creation of “LOL” proved how AI can often misinterprets cultural instructions and mixed-language concepts, offering a glimpse into the AI Divide and its potential to overlook developing nations, where technology could actually foster economic growth and structural innovation rooted in valuable indigenous knowledge.
Building on the popularity of this original “Lichtenstein on Lombok (LOL)” series, Gjertson created a collection for sister company, Klub Kembali – the craft cocktail bar and restaurant she co-owns with her husband and partner, Daniel Schwizer, in Selong Belanak, Lombok. Rooted in the ideals of the original “LOL” prints, the Klub Kembali Collection aims to remind us that as a global community, we often share more similarities than differences when art and ideas are rooted in humor, joy and play.
Prints — and other Plastik Kembali artworks — are available for sale at Klub Kembali and through PK’s gallery rep, Nyaman Gallery with locations at Nyaman Gallery Lombok in Selong Belanak, Lombok at Sempiak Seaside Resort and Nyaman Gallery Bali in Seminyak, Bali.
